Avro York C.1 – s/n MW110

With Air Charter from Sep 1952 to Jan 1956

Given Name – ‘New Britain’

Sadly, very little is known about this aircraft’s service life with Air Charter. What is known is that in December 1953, she was allocated the military serial XF919 which she retained for trooping work from a number of RAF bases and civil airfields in the UK to the Mediterranean and Suez regions, until reverting back to her civil registration in July 1955. She was seen at Southend on May 25th 1955 and was later WFU and stored at Stansted until being sold to Hunting Clan in January 1956.
