Avro York C.1 – s/n MW138

With Air Charter from Mar 1952 to Jun 1955

This York was flown from Rushton Tarrant to Stansted sometime during the spring of 1952. She would be then be prepared for service and readied for her new CoA which was issued in November. After this, she commenced trooping with Air Charter, however, the history of this aircraft is unfortunately rather sketchy and thus very few details are available. However, she was spotted in the Suez region during January 1955 and she was later seen making trips to Hamburg carrying the military serial ‘XF739’ which had previously been allocated erroneously to ACL Tudor G-AGRI. Romeo India was eventually sold to Air Liban as OD-ACD.
