Reid Aviation

Operated from late 1974 to circa Sep 1976

Founder/Director – Captain Reid

In the beginning, this small, single aircraft operation primarily involved itself with air taxi services from Southend to Rotterdam, which were flown by company owner Captain Reid. However, in January 1975, an accident put the company out of action for a month until a replacement aircraft could be found, this emerging in the form of an ex-Starflite Aztec which was then put to work for the company. Reid Aviation would mostly fly charters around Britain to air shows and racing events during its short life, although services would continue to Holland, while the odd ‘long distance’ charter would also occasionally take place, with Reid flying as far as Norway in April 1975. Operations would continue into 1976, although eventually both aircraft were disposed of and the company had gone out of business by September 1976.
