Sverigeflyg

Operated from Mar 1965 to Jun 1967
Country of Origin – Sweden
Founder/Director – Bo Nilsson
Initially starting out in 1963 as an importer of Beagle and Auster aircraft to Sweden, this company eventually developed into a multi branched organisation that offered taxi services with a couple of Cessna 310 aircraft, while another wing could provide agricultural services using Pawnees. It wasn’t until 1965 however, that Sverigeflyg purchased its first and only commercial type in the form of a DC-3 that had been hire purchased from Finnish concern Kar Air O/Y. On March 30th 1965, this airline made the first of what would become many trips to Southend during this year and kept busy hauling charter passengers from SEN to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Eelde, Gothenburg and Malmo. While it would be the DC-3 that brought the Sverigeflyg name to SEN, a small number of Cessna 310 and Pawnee flights would pass through the airport during 1965 too.
Sverigeflyg fleet from 1965 to 1966
Douglas DC-3
SE-EGR – 3/65 to 7/67
Sold to Kar Air O/Y as OH-VKC
