G-OBWG
BAC 1-11-509EW – c/n 184
With BAF/BWA from Nov 1992 to Apr 1995
As with all of the other ex-Dan-Air 1-11s, G-AWWX was officially transferred to BAF on November 11th 1992, later being ferried to Southend from Bournemouth on the 29th of the same month. However, she was to be one of a small handful of these aircraft that would ultimately not enter service with the airline. While the registration G-OBWG would later be allocated, it was never actually taken up and she sat forlorn and unloved for a number of years at the northern end of the old 15/33 runway, although it would appear that during this time, she remained untouched and mostly complete. In 1995, she was sold on to Nigerian outfit Oriental Airlines, although this aircraft was never delivered to the airline and after several more years of languishing at SEN, she was finally scrapped during September 1998.
